Bryon Reilly 3rd Annual Irish Skeet Champion!

Easton, MD - The green targets were loaded, the corned beef was cooking and on a chilly March Sunday several TRGC members took to the trap field to celebrate St. Patrick and decide who would be this year's "Irish" Skeet Champion. For the uninitiated, "Irish" Skeet is a modified game based on a combination of both Trap and Skeet. In this setting, shooters are permitted only one, 25 round box of shells and are required to engage targets thrown from the trap house...only instead of standing on the trap pads, shooters instead use the skeet stations, providing a very challenging and humbling shooting experience...particularly on the corners!

This year marked our 3rd crack at this event and while the program improves, the weather never seems to. The morning rain faded however and the sun shone through for a few hours at least, surely a relief to Joe Devens and his #l. This year's contestants were broken down into two squads with the winner of each squad facing off for a 10 bird championship shoot-off. At the end of the day it would be Bryon Reilly and Walley Taylor shooting off for top honors. In the end it would be Mr. Reilly who would reign supreme joining our previous year's champions Buddy Spearing and David Lovelady, respectively. Sláinte Bryon! It should not go without saying that while Mr. Taylor did not take home the trophy, he did in fact progress the farthest in the initial round of shooting-15 stations in fact. Well done Mr. Taylor!

With the shooting complete, competitors, members and guests alike were treated to a fine corned beef, cabbage, and potato supper prepared by the hard working members of the club. Thank you all who joined us this year, we look forward to having you out again next year!
